Dear Candidate

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for expressing an interest in either the role of Assistant Director, Research and Innovation Funding Development or Research and Innovation Funding Manager. I hope you find the information provided on this site helpful.

Anglia Ruskin is a modern, thriving university dedicated to achieving impact through our research and innovation activities, thus benefitting our partners, regions and the nation. We have ambitious plans for the future and are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. With a new university strategy, these are exciting times for us as we embark on the next chapter in our development as one of the leading East of England universities.

The Research and Innovation Development Office (RIDO) provides strategic support to our Faculties to drive research and innovation. In the context of a new university strategy which states ‘we will deliver a step change in our research capacity to maximise its impact for the communities we serve.’ the office is a critical part of helping the university reach its potential. The Research and Innovation Funding Development team within RIDO plays a key role in making this happen through support the development of applications for funding to external organisations such as Research Councils, including for large, collaborative bids.

For the Assistant Director position we are looking for a person who wants to make a real difference to the university’s future to provide strategic direction to the team in this exciting time. As such we are looking for an experienced professional who has a track record of leading a team in supporting applications of different scales to a wide range of research funding sources, both locally and internationally.

Two Research and Innovation Funding Manager (RIFM) roles are available within the RIFD Team, one to support the Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care and the other to support the Faculty of Business and Law.  Our Research and Innovation Funding Managers work closely with academic colleagues, faculty management and other members of the Research and Innovation Funding Development Team to support and drive an increase in the research and innovation capacity in the Faculty, and more broadly across our University. You’ll need to have a robust understanding of the funding landscape and the process for identifying and applying for research and innovation funding.

If you wish to have a confidential, informal discussion with our advising consultants from GatenbySanderson, please contact Paul Aristides or Valentina Serra. As well as information on this site, further details about our University can be found at www.anglia.ac.uk.

Yours sincerely

Dr Michael Millan
Director Research and Innovation Development Office
